January 11th Meeting

JANUARY 11th MEETING – Developing Your “Voice’ as a Botanical Artist

Program begins at 10:30 am at the U.S. Botanic Garden.

The Board has engaged Susan Frei Nathan,  who juried our Athenaeum exhibit, for a very special program you will not want to miss. This is for members and invited guests.

Susan has over twenty years of experience dealing in botanical art and is passionate about helping artists reach their highest potential in this field. She will present an educational and thought-provoking program which focuses on developing your voice within your art. In her talk, Susan will touch on the history, progression and value of botanical art. She will describe how composition, technique, imagery and materials combine to create a unique artistic statement. The program will be structured to allow for roundtable discussion to answer your questions and have conversation about common topics of interest, including marketing and pricing your work.

After the program, we will stage a “Portfolio Sharing” event featuring a few of our members and their work, followed by a potluck lunch and brief business meeting.
