BASNCR Secures Strathmore Exhibit for 2016

BASNCR is pleased to announce a juried exhibition open to all members at the Strathmore Mansion in North Bethesda, Md., from June 11th – July 31st, 2016. The show’s theme will be “Celebrating the Gardens of the Chesapeake.” While traditional works are very welcome, Strathmore Curator Harriet Lesser invites artists to “think outside the botanical art box,” experimenting with approaches, media, composition, or format to explore what defines botanical art.  We plan to have Ms. Lesser present at an upcoming meeting for discussion and inspiration.

The exhibition, which will hang in the Mansion’s Invitational Gallery, will offer artists the opportunity to exhibit and sell their works in a lovely setting, with good publicity and, possibly, related events. More details and a call for entries will follow at a later date. Many thanks to BASNCR Exhibitions Chair Jerry Kurtzweg for arranging what promises to be a celebration both of BASNCR artists’ creativity and the beauty of our region’s gardens.
