BAEE Promotes the Use of Native Plants

Botanical Artists for Education & the Environment (BAEE) was incorporated in 2011 as a nonprofit for the primary purpose of publishing the book Native Plants of the Mid-Atlantic, published early in 2014. BAEE is now focusing its efforts on outreach to gardening and civic groups to spread the word about the importance of using native plants in home gardens. In the Washington, D.C., area, presentations have been scheduled to garden clubs, master gardener groups, the Virginia Native Plant Society, and to the Cosmos Club. The schedule will appear on the BAEE web site (www.baeecorp.org) with indications as to whether the meeting is open to the public.

If you know of an organization that might be interested in a presentation, contact Bonnie Driggers (gbdriggers@me.com). At these events, the book can be made available at a discount so that the garden club makes a profit. If interested in doing this, contact Judy Rodgers (robertrodgers07@comcast.net).
